The Shimano Twin Power FD reel (new for 2020) is a premium model. This model incorporates all the Japanese manufacturer's advanced technologies to ensure smooth and fluid operation, and a powerful, reliable, and durable mechanism. The Hagane Body, made from a combination of metal and polymer, offers incredible strength and low weight, ensuring a secure fit of all internal components, regardless of the load. The rotor of the new Twin Power FD is made from aluminum alloy, making it resistant to bending, ensuring perfect line lay even when fighting large fish. The reel mechanism features nine high-quality S A-RB ball bearings with maximum corrosion protection and one roller bearing, providing an instant anti-reverse system. The modern Micromodule II gear system and Silent Drive technology ensure smooth rotation, while the pinion gear, made of high-strength alloy using Hagane Gear technology, ensures high strength and durability. The AR-C Spool on the Shimano Twin Power FD reel has an elongated shape for long casting distances. The internal mechanism and even the line roller are protected from moisture and dirt by the X-Protect system, which features a labyrinth-like channel system that prevents water from entering.
